Avrupa Minerals Confirms 6.5 Million Tonne Copper-Zinc Resource at Portugal’s Sesmarias Project

Initial mineral resource estimate for the Iberian Pyrite Belt deposit grades 2.9% zinc and 0.6% copper, with exploration upside targeting a doubling of the resource through further drilling.

4 June 2026TSX-V: AVUSource: Avrupa Minerals Ltd. press release, 3 June 2026

Avrupa Minerals Ltd. has published its first NI 43-101-compliant mineral resource estimate (MRE) for the Sesmarias copper-zinc project in northern Portugal, reporting a total inferred resource of 6.5 million tonnes grading 2.9% zinc, 1.2% lead, 0.6% copper, and 35 grams per tonne silver — equivalent to a copper equivalent (CuEq) grade of 2.2%, or a zinc equivalent (ZnEq) of 6.2%. The estimate was compiled by SLR Consulting’s Frank Browning and carries an effective date of 1 May 2026.

The project sits within the Iberian Pyrite Belt (IPB), one of the world’s most productive volcanic-hosted massive sulphide (VMS) districts, stretching across southern Spain and Portugal. Sesmarias lies in the northern portion of the belt and hosts polymetallic mineralisation within a synformal fold structure with a known strike length of at least 1,700 metres.

“The study supports the vitality of the mineralisation and provides clear encouragement for prioritised drilling in all zones at Sesmarias to potentially increase the size of the deposit.” — Paul W. Kuhn, President & CEO, Avrupa Minerals

The resource is classified entirely as inferred and is broken into four zones. The Central Zone, at 2.2 million tonnes grading 3.4% zinc and 0.9% copper, carries the highest average grades in the deposit and accounts for 76,000 tonnes of contained zinc metal. The North and South zones each contribute approximately 1.9–2.1 million tonnes at lower but still material grades.

Alongside the MRE, SLR completed an independent assessment of exploration potential identifying seven drill targets beyond the current resource footprint — two extensional (E1, E2) and five conceptual (C1–C5). The extensional targets pursue down-plunge continuations of the Central and South zones, while the conceptual targets test largely undrilled portions of the synform’s hinge and west limb, where structural models suggest additional massive sulphide lenses may exist. SLR’s sensitivity analysis shows that at a 3% ZnEq cut-off, the deposit could contain up to 10.6 million tonnes grading 5.1% ZnEq — though that figure is not a declared mineral resource.

The company has initiated a mining licence application for the Sesmarias deposit and is seeking a joint-venture partner to fund the next drilling campaign and advance the project through pre-feasibility studies. First-priority drilling will target the Central Zone hinge and west limb between sections 275 S and 700 S, where moderate existing drill density has left the synform’s geometry incompletely characterised. Near-term exploration success in the Central and North zones is expected to inform the sequencing of work in the more geologically complex Southern Zone.

Avrupa Minerals trades on the TSX Venture Exchange (AVU), the US OTC market (AVPMF), and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (8AM). The company also holds the 100%-owned Alvalade VMS project in Portugal and a 49% stake in the Slivova gold project in Kosovo.

  • Avrupa Minerals Cuts Reporting Frequency as Junior Explorer Focuses Resources on Copper-Gold Projects Across Europe

Avrupa Minerals Cuts Reporting Frequency as Junior Explorer Focuses Resources on Copper-Gold Projects Across Europe

Avrupa Minerals has announced it will shift from quarterly to semi-annual financial reporting, reducing its administrative compliance burden as the junior exploration company concentrates its limited resources on copper-zinc and gold projects across Finland, Portugal and Kosovo.

The Canadian-listed company has confirmed its eligibility under Coordinated Blanket Order 51-933, a TSX Venture Exchange pilot framework that allows qualifying small-revenue venture issuers with a clean disclosure record to file financial statements and management discussion and analysis twice yearly rather than four times, while continuing to produce annual audited results. The change is intended to streamline administrative costs without affecting the company’s core exploration activities.

Avrupa operates a project generator model, seeking joint venture partners to fund and advance early-stage assets while retaining meaningful interests. Its portfolio spans three European jurisdictions: a series of Finnish volcanogenic massive sulphide targets held through a partnership structure; a wholly owned Portuguese VMS project for which a mining licence application is pending; and a gold interest in Kosovo. The company’s strategy is focused exclusively on politically stable European countries, positioning it to attract partners cautious about jurisdictional risk.

The most recent analyst rating on Avrupa Minerals stock is a Hold with a price target of C$0.07.

  • Avrupa Minerals Expands Exploration Holdings in Finland’s Vihanti-Pyhäsalmi VMS District

Avrupa Minerals Expands Exploration Holdings in Finland’s Vihanti-Pyhäsalmi VMS District

Vancouver, British Columbia – October 8, 2025 – Avrupa Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: AVU) has expanded its footprint in the Vihanti-Pyhäsalmi volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) District of central Finland through its Finnish partnership Akkerman Finland Oy (AFOy). The company has secured a new exploration reservation, KKS (VA2025-0043), covering 18.6 km² and encompassing three historic VMS prospects — Kurpas, Kaskela, and Sirviö.

With this acquisition, AFOy now holds seven copper-zinc exploration permits in the district at various stages of approval by the Finnish government, in addition to one gold exploration permit in the Oijärvi Greenstone Belt.

According to records from the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK), the area was intermittently explored between 1970 and 2001. Outokumpu Oy discovered shallow copper-zinc mineralization in 1986 at Kaskela and in 1989 at Kurpas, identifying VMS layers extending several hundred meters. The best results from limited shallow drilling included narrow but high-grade intercepts:

    Prospect Width (m) Cu (%) Zn (%)
    Kurpas 1.0 2.4
    2.0 1.2
    0.2–0.8 2–8
    Kaskela 5.1 6.1
    1.5 8.8
    0.7 2.4

Subsequent follow-up exploration by Outokumpu Oy and Belvedere Resources Ltd. did not yield extensions to the mineralized zones, and both companies ceased work in the area by 2005. No exploration has been conducted over the past 20 years.

AFOy now plans to evaluate the deeper potential (>200 meters) of the volcano-sedimentary sequence around KKS using advanced geophysical methods, including airborne deep electromagnetic (EM) surveys and detailed magnetics — a strategy inspired by the deeper success of the Pyhäsalmi Mine, located nearby.

Paul W. Kuhn, President and CEO of Avrupa Minerals, commented:

“We have acquired another area of massive sulfide mineralization close to the Pyhäsalmi Mine. Our VMS portfolio in the District now includes seven licenses covering highly prospective targets, including two permits located less than two kilometers from the Pyhäsalmi headframe.”

Avrupa and its partner Akkerman Exploration are now seeking a joint venture partner to advance the VMS program. Representatives from both companies will attend the FEM2025 Conference in Levi, Finland (October 28–30), where they plan to meet with interested parties.

  • Avrupa Minerals Regains Full Control of Sesmarias Project in Portugal

Avrupa Minerals Regains Full Control of Sesmarias Project in Portugal

Avrupa Minerals is reaffirming its commitment to the Sesmarias project in Portugal, even as it continues to expand its Finnish exploration portfolio. Sesmarias, the company’s flagship discovery since 2014, has seen significant progress through multiple joint ventures and self-funded efforts. Most recently, Sandfire MATSA supported exploration from 2020 to 2025, yielding impressive high-grade intercepts and expanding the project’s geological understanding.

Despite these advancements, the project did not meet Sandfire MATSA’s internal criteria, leading to Avrupa regaining 100% ownership. With complex geology and promising mineralization—including intercepts like 26.95 meters @ 2.18% Cu and 28.60 meters @ 1.68% Cu—the company is now focused on securing a new strategic partner to advance towards a potential mining decision.

  • Avrupa Minerals Submits Mining License Application for Copper-Zinc Project in Portugal’s Iberian Pyrite Belt

Avrupa Minerals Submits Mining License Application for Copper-Zinc Project in Portugal’s Iberian Pyrite Belt

Avrupa Minerals Ltd. (TSXV: AVU) has officially submitted a Mining License Application (MLA) for its 100%-owned Sesmarias copper-zinc volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) project, located in the northern sector of Portugal’s renowned Iberian Pyrite Belt (IPB). The application was filed with the Portuguese Mining Bureau (DGEG), which will now review the documentation and may request additional information before reaching a decision.

This milestone follows nearly 15 years of exploration work by Avrupa in the Portuguese portion of the IPB and 11 years specifically dedicated to the Sesmarias site. CEO Paul W. Kuhn emphasized the significance of the submission, calling it the product of “persistence and continued upgrade of the 3D geo-structural model” developed through both joint ventures and Avrupa-funded drilling campaigns.

Kuhn highlighted that Sesmarias still holds significant potential, with several accessible targets across its Central, Northern, and Southern zones. Avrupa believes the Central Zone could be further expanded and that other areas may soon be incorporated into a broader mineral resource estimate.

As the project moves into its next phase, Avrupa is actively seeking a mining partner to support development. The company continues to use its hybrid prospect generator model to pursue mineral opportunities across Europe, with active projects also in Finland and Kosovo.

  • Avrupa Minerals Closes $350,000 Private Placement to Fund Exploration Projects

Avrupa Minerals Closes $350,000 Private Placement to Fund Exploration Projects

Avrupa Minerals Ltd. has successfully closed a private placement as announced in mid-August, raising $350,000 through the sale of 10,000,000 Units at $0.035 per Unit. Each Unit consists of one common share and one common share purchase warrant, which allows the holder to purchase an additional share at $0.10 until September 5, 2027. The warrants are non-transferable, and all securities issued are subject to a four-month hold period ending on January 6, 2025. No finders’ fees were paid.

A director of the company acquired 371,429 Units, making this transaction a related party transaction under TSX Venture Exchange policies. However, the company relied on exemptions under Multilateral Instrument 61-101 (MI 61-101) since the transaction value did not exceed 25% of the company’s market capitalization.

The proceeds from this placement will primarily be used for drilling and exploration programs in Finland, ongoing operations in Portugal and Kosovo, and for general corporate purposes. None of the funds will be used for investor relations or paid to non-arms-length parties. Avrupa Minerals, a junior exploration company, focuses on mineral discovery in politically stable regions of Europe, with projects in Portugal, Finland, and Kosovo.
