Large-scale production of cathode copper will appear in the Zhambyl region, LS reports with reference to Kazakh Invest.
The project is being implemented in the Moiynkum district, where 563 hectares have been allocated. Production facilities, a heap leaching site, irrigation fields, a shift camp, access roads, sanitary protection zones, and a future flotation factory will be located here. Capacity – 10 thousand tons of cathode copper.
According to the information, the cost of the first stage is estimated at 25 billion tenge.
According to the regional director of the national company Arnold Gering, an investment project was concluded with Shagala-Mining on the preference “Exemption from customs duties on the import of technological equipment and components for it” with Shagala-Mining.
It is expected that after the launch of the enterprise in the III quarter of 2023, 439 jobs will be created.
