Uranium One, an international group of companies controlled by the Russian state corporation Rosatom, has been approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to acquire shares of three uranium mining enterprises currently owned by Kazakhstan’s Kazatomprom. According to TASS, Uranium One Netherlands BV will transfer a 50% stake in Karatau LLP, a 30% stake in JV Khorasan-U LLP, and a 70% stake in JV Southern Mining and Chemical Company LLP to Uranium One Group. These enterprises are developing uranium deposits in different regions of Kazakhstan. The government clarified that the transactions are intra-group and there will be no changes in beneficiaries or activities of the uranium enterprises.
