Representatives of mining companies, the KAZENERGY Association, and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Committee on Water Resources participated in the meeting.

The Water Code legislation is being developed to establish legal foundations, tasks, and principles for the implementation of a unified state policy and regulation of public relations in the field of protection and use of the country’s water resources.

At the meeting, mining companies made comments and proposals on the Water Code Project of the Republic of Kazakhstan regarding such concepts as “drainage waters,” “effluent accumulators,” “wastewater,” and “water catchment.” Questions were also raised about the provisions of the law on the types of water objects, rights and obligations of water users, regulation in the use and protection of water resources, the process of granting permission, suspension of permission, and more.
